Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Whether you bring your partner, a family member, or a friend, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Our medical team performs pregnancy testing in private, but you are welcome to invite anyone to join you after that.
Is there a charge to use your services?
We provide all our services free of charge. We never want a lack of finances to be the reason you can’t get the pregnancy services you need.
How soon can I take a pregnancy test?
Experts recommend waiting to take a pregnancy test until at least the first day after your missed period. Your body needs time for the pregnancy hormone (hCG) to build to a detectable level.
Does Cornerstone Reproductive Health provide abortions?
No, we do not perform or refer for abortion.
If I'm considering an abortion, why do I need an ultrasound?
An ultrasound reveals three essential facts you need regardless of the pregnancy decision you make.
- An ultrasound determines if your pregnancy is developing or if you have had a miscarriage. Over one in four pregnancies ends in a miscarriage, so don’t waste your time or money on abortion drugs if you aren’t pregnant.
- Although rare, sometimes a pregnancy forms outside the uterus. This is known as an ectopic pregnancy and can be extremely dangerous, even life-threatening. An ultrasound helps detect the location of the pregnancy. Abortion drugs do not end an ectopic pregnancy.
- Ultrasound determines the gestational age. Abortion providers decide on the procedure you have based on how far along your pregnancy is.
Could I have an STD even though I don't have any symptoms?
Many sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and infections (STIs) do not have immediate symptoms, which is one of the reasons people put off getting tested. If you are sexually active, you should be tested regularly. Untreated STDs can cause serious health problems later on.
